Stemnovate and partner ANB sensors are working together as part of Liver-on-a-chip project to develop biosensors that have potential to provide microenvironment information of the cell culture systems, especially the pH measurements. The advantage is for improving the reproducibility of the cell systems and defining optimum culture conditions.
ANB Sensors are also based in Cambridge and specialise in developing pH sensors. Their technology provides an alternative to the glass electrodes that require repeat calibration because of electrode drift. Stemnovate specialises in advanced cell culture systems and tissue engineering, and both companies are addressing the challenges around the measurement of changes in the mixed cell culture media.
